Fratelli Piccini & Giorgetti present “CRAFTING ITALIAN EXCELLENCE”
Giorgetti unveils the inaugural phase of the travelling exhibition in Milan, in collaboration with Fratelli Piccini, a symbol of High Jewellery Made in ItalyFrom 8thuntil 10thOctober 2024, the Milanese space Giorgetti Spiga The Place becomes the setting for the first stage of the travelling exhibition “Crafting Italian Excellence”. An event that celebrates the highest Italian craftsmanship tradition, placing in dialogue two excellences of Made in Italy: the historic Maison of High Jewellery Fratelli Picciniand Giorgetti. Founded in 1903 in Florence, Fratelli Piccini has been a symbol of Italian High Jewellery for four generations, with the only workshop still active on Ponte Vecchio.
Under the guidance of Elisa Tozzi Piccini, gemmologist and entrepreneur, the company continues to shape jewellery, entirely handmade, reflecting tradition and innovation, inspired by Florentine culture and architecture, as well as the beauty of nature.The exhibition was born from the encounter between two realities characterised by a unique and precious heritage, which share the same sartorial approach, thanks to the irreplaceable work of master craftsmen, the search for quality, attention to detailand the continuous selection of materials.Giorgetti’s exclusive furnishing proposals, with their refined and unmistakable character, dialogue with the jewellery creationsin the setting co-curated by Giancarlo Bosisio, Art Director of Giorgetti, and Fratelli Piccini and celebrating the many forms of nature through four different scenarios.
Under The Sea, Pebble Beach, Knock On Wood andMamba Forest present a selection of the Florentine brand’s most iconic jewels, highlighting their refined workmanship. Under The Seais a tribute to the inhabitants of the sea, with unique products such as the ‘Magda’ brooch-the symbol of the Maison-depicting a seahorse in rubies and diamonds, and the ‘Antarctica’ ring, where cabochon moonstones float on an expanse of diamonds, evoking sea landscapes.
Pebble Beach is developed in an interplay of geometries and hard stones, including lapis lazuli, carnelian and malachite. The Tetti di Firenze collection, inspired by the beauty of the city’s rooftops, testifies to the harmony between form and colour. Knock On Wood exalts the art of carving that blend with nature. Standout creations are the ‘Marina’ bracelet, with hand-engraved links in 18kt gold, and the Wave collection, a mix of ebony, gold and diamonds that celebrates the majesty of wood shaped by the weather.Finally, Mamba Forestis a journey into the heart of the jungle with the “Black Mamba” necklace in jade and gold, and the ‘Amazonia’ bracelet, characterised by its ergonomic shape and finished 2by hand in over one hundred hours.
The ‘Carnivora’ brooch, with its engraved emerald leaves, is a unique masterpiece from the early 1960s. To welcome guests, the new Giorgetti living room setting, where pieces from the current collection dialogue harmoniously with previous creations, all created with the utmost attention to detail and the highest quality materials. Protagonist of the space isthe Skyline sofa, accompanied by the Clori armchair with pouf, characterised by the enveloping shapes designed by Carlo Colombo.
The Drop coffee table by Giancarlo Bosiois matched with the Otto and Summa poufs, while the Ray coffee table by Roberto Lazzeroni, a style icon of the 1970s, makes its comeback in grand style. Completing the environment the Kiranami screen by HBA, whose arrangement of the tiles evokes the movement of sea waves, and the Beyond round rug, handcrafted handloom jacquard technique, made of bamboo silk and wool. Next to the Adam daybed, with an essential and rigorous design by Carlo Colombo, there is the Libra floor lamp by Mauro Todesco + Emera Design, characterised by games of tangencies and formal balances. In the dining area, the Mistral table by Dainelli Studio, with its top suspended on ash legs reminiscent of the sails of a boat unfurled in the wind, is surrounded by the elegant Ibla chairsby Roberto Lazzeroni. “Crafting Italian Excellence” will be on show from 8th to 10thOctober 2024 at Giorgetti Spiga The Place, Via della Spiga 31, Milan.
The exhibition will continue its journey, landing in London and Paris Giorgetti stores, and bringing the art of Italian manufacturing excellence to Europe’s leading luxury capitals. A celebration of the elegance and craftsmanship that make Made in Italy a symbol of quality and creativity around the world.
